The Calgary Flames will host a recognition night for the Calgary Flames Foundation on Friday, November 30th when the Flames face off against the Los Angeles Kings. Throughout the game promotions and videos will feature Calgary Flames Foundation beneficiaries with the intent to raise awareness on Calgary Flames Foundation fundraising initiatives and to thank supporters.

The Calgary Flames Foundation strives to improve the lives of southern Albertans through support of health and wellness, education and amateur and grassroots sports programs. The Foundation most recently has invested in a number of projects and charities that align with this mandate including a $2M commitment to amateur and grassroots hockey programming in Calgary and Alberta and a $1M donation to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation in support of enhanced programs and respite care at Rotary Flames House – the pediatric hospice the Foundation helped to open almost 10 years ago.

The enhanced commitment to hockey in Calgary is focused on removing barriers, providing access to youth in Calgary by funding programs that address obstacles to participation in sport and hockey. The Foundation continues to strive to make hockey more accessible to families in Calgary and surrounding areas through programs like the Flames EvenStrength Program, Comrie Equipment Bank, Flames Community Hockey League, HEROS, Flames Novice Program, Flames Learn to Play and support of KidSport Calgary, Hockey Alberta and Hockey Calgary programming.

Through the creation of various fundraising initiatives and the support of Flames fans, the Calgary Flames Foundation was able to raise in excess of $4.0M in support of over 75 charities and projects during the 2017-18 season.

Since inception, the Calgary Flames Foundation has invested over $32 million back into the southern Alberta community through various charities and projects. For more information on the work the Calgary Flames Foundation is performing in our community, please visit www.calgaryflamesfoundation.com.
