CGY Classroom Crew

CGY Classroom Crew is a grassroots sports initiative for Southern Alberta schools. CGY Classroom Crew provides a groups of three to four trained instructors that visit schools, primarily in Calgary, to teach and play floor hockey and flag football to students in a physical education setting over a three or four-day period. The primary goal is to foster a love for sports, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

The CGY Classroom Crew provides equipment for each class and uses an easy-to-follow structures plan to make sure each student is learning the sport in a safe, fun and inclusive environment. Once the program is complete, each school can choose to keep either ball hockey or flag football equipment, in a range of sizes.

The CGY Classroom Crew is a three to four-day offering, which can be customizable and modified to fit each school’s needs and schedules. Each school can select ball hockey, flag football or both. Grades and classrooms are rotated through the full day or half day program. The program is built for grades K-9 but is offered to six grades at a time. The cost of this program has been reduced to provide equal access for all students.
