The Calgary Flames will host Uncorked for ALS presented by Scotiabank tonight, Friday, November 10th at Bridgette Bar in support of the Calgary Flames Foundation and ALS research and chaired by Frida Engstrom and Mikael Backlund.

Sadly, Mikael’s fiancé Frida lost her Mom to ALS five years ago and since then both her and Mikael have been incredible ambassadors in hopes of finding a cure for this terrible disease. For them, this event signifies hope. Hope for a bright future for this sickness as a cure is within reach and your support is a tremendous step in the right direction for those affected.

The Flames Better Halves are hosting alongside Scotiabank, the Flames Foundation and Frida and Mikael. This event will provide attendees the opportunity to enjoy a night of food, tastings and fundraising including the Flames Better Halves “A Few of our Favourite Things” baskets. Baskets filled with their family’s favourite things as silent auction items.

When the ownership group brought the Flames to Calgary in 1980 their mandate, which is still prominent today, was to ensure that the Calgary Flames have a positive impact on the quality of life in southern Alberta. Since its inception the Foundation, with the support of partners and donors, has raised millions for education, health and wellness, and amateur and grassroots sports. The Flames Foundation supports player’s charitable initiatives by matching all player donations up to $25,000 to CRA registered charities in Alberta. Every season, the Calgary Flames Foundation raises over $4 million in support of these three key areas.
