SPECIAL OLYMPICS, CSEC HOST BREAKFAST WITH CHAMPIONS

The 6th Annual Special Olympics Calgary Breakfast with Champions event presented by QV Investors will be held on Tuesday, October 17th in the Chrysler Club Restaurant at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

This year’s event will celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary with a look back at some of the nation’s most influential athletes throughout the years. Decorated Canadian Olympians Catriona Le May Doan and Kyle Shewfelt will be the featured guest speakers with Calgary Flames President of Hockey Operations Brian Burke as the honorary chair. Funds raised at the breakfast will support more than 800 individuals with intellectual disabilities in the Calgary area.

Celebrities Scheduled To Attend Include:

Calgary Flames: Mikael Backlund (Flames’ Ambassador for Special Olympics Calgary), Brian Burke, Assistant Coach Martin Gelinas, Dougie Hamilton, Freddie Hamilton, Brett Kulak, Matthew Tkachuk and Alumnus Lanny McDonald.

Calgary Hitmen: Goaltending Coach Jason LaBarbera.

Calgary Roughnecks: Alumni Andrew McBride and Bob Snider

Calgary Stampeders: Linebackers Alex Singleton and Jameer Thurman.
